After Uri attack,India at UNGA publically condemned Human rights violations of Pakistan army in Balochistan. Balochistan constitutes 40% of Pakistan's physical area and has abundant deposition of minerals and natural gas. The terrain is so rugged and basically regarded as inhabitable, It's home to one of the ethnic minorities in Pakistan, called Balochs.
Their origin can be traced back to Aleppo in Syria,a breakaway faction from Kurds. After migrating to various regions such as Turkey and Iraq, they settled down in western parts of Pakistan. They were ruled by Khans of Kalat and had enjoyed a well structured ruling mechanisms and an army. After British occupation,Baloch territory underwent various administrative changes. They trifurcated between Iran,British and Afghanistan in the name of settling borders. Though they demanded a separate country after partition,Pakistan by force annexed the region. Since then thousands of people were killed and 'disappeared' from Baluchistan.
