Rolls-Royce has been awarded $275 million in contracts to support the U.S. military.
Best known for its luxury cars, Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC, a global power systems company, said Thursday it has recently received contracts worth more than $275 million to provide support services for the U.S. military.
Rolls-Royce received a $112.2 million services contract from the U.S. Air Force for AE 2100 engines and propeller systems for Lockheed Martin C-130J Super Hercules military transport aircraft.
In its second-largest U.S. military contract, the U.S. Marine Corps awarded Rolls-Royce three contracts totaling $84.7 million. These include providing maintenance services on AE 1107C engines for V-22 aircraft; a $45.2 million contract for logistics and technical engineering services for AE 2100 engines for USMC KC-130J aircraft.
The U.S. Navy awarded Rolls-Royce a $33.8 million contract for repair of T56 engines in its Lockheed P-3 Orion four-engine turboprop anti-submarine and maritime surveillance aircraft, Lockheed C-130 Hercules four-engine turboprop military transport aircraft and C-2 airplanes.
