Korean Air has delivered the first US Air Force Boeing F-15 it rewired under a $400 million contract signed last September and won a new $18 million contract to support US military helicopters.
Under the F-15 deal, Korean Air will work on 60 strike aircraft stationed in the Asia-Pacific region up to 2016, says the company.
"Korean Air will replace their tail wings and rewire them in line with the US military's goal to improve its combat strength," says the carrier. "Korean Air also will maintain the fleet."
The helicopter maintenance contract covers a range of types, including the Boeing AH-64D Apache and CH-47 Chinook, and the Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk.
The work for both programmes is being undertaken at the company's Busan Tech Center.
